Candle Care & Tips
CandleDust – Powdered Candle Kit Instructions
Note: The CandleDust Kit tubes are not a burn-safe container. Always use a fireproof, open vessel. For best results, maintain 8cm+ of spacing around each wick.
Fill the Container
Select a heat-safe container and pour in the desired amount of The CandleDust candle sand.
Insert Wicks
Position the wick so it stands approximately 1 cm above the surface. Ensure there is at least 4 cm of space around a single wick, or if using multiple, keep them at least 7 cm apart.
Light & Enjoy!
Light the candle and enjoy the warm glow. When the wick has burned down, replace it with a new one.
Refresh
When the wick has burned out, remove any remaining wax, add sand, give it a gentle shake to even it out, and insert new wicks. To reuse any remaining wick and hardened wax, flip them upside down and light again.
Reuse & Refresh
Once the candle cools and hardens, you have three elegant ways to continue the ritual:
Crush & Refill – Gently crush the cooled wax, top it up with fresh powder, and add a new wick
Relight – If enough wick remains, simply light it again like a standard candle
Reset Completely – Remove the hardened wax, pour fresh powder, insert a new wick, and begin anew
Why Trimming Your Wick Matters
Want your candle to last longer and burn cleaner?
The secret is simple: trim your wick!
Regular Wick Trimming
Extends burn time by up to 25%
Prevents smoke and soot buildup
Avoids tunneling (when the wax melts unevenly)
Just a few seconds of care before each burn can make a big difference.
How to Trim a Candle Wick
Extinguish the flame and let the wax cool.
Trim the wick to about ¼ inch above the wax.
Use a wick trimmer, scissors, or even nail clippers!
Catch and discard debris to keep wax clean.
Tip: Trim before every burn, especially if the wick has a “mushroom” shape on top.

Wick Too Short?
If you over-trimmed:
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to melt the wax around the wick.
Pour out excess wax until ⅛ – ¼ inch of wick is exposed.
Let cool and relight.
